What do session look like?

Session are typically 55 minutes long. Depending on your needs and goals, we will focus on specific challenges and engage in activities tailored to your therapeutic journey.

What do I need to bring for my first session?

Please make sure all required documentation is completed before your session. This helps us make the most of our time together!

What will my first session look like?

Your first session is an intake session where I learn about you, your child, or teen. We will discuss background information, current concerns, and goals for therapy. By the end, we’ll create a brief treatment plan outlining the structure of future sessions—whether it’s parent training, individual sessions, or a mix of both. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions or voice concerns.

What can I expect from each session?

Session structure varies based on individual needs. For children and teens, I plan interactive activities to engage them in the therapeutic process. For those preferring a talk therapy approach, I encourage bringing in topics they’d like to discuss so we can explore and navigate them together.

What are the vibes like?

Therapy should feel safe and comfortable. You’re welcome to eat, drink, and even take off your shoes! This time is for you and your child/teen to feel at ease and enjoy the process.

How long will my child/teen be in therapy?

On average, therapy lasts around 12 sessions (about 3 months), but this may vary depending on progress and goals.

How do we wrap things up at the end of therapy?

As therapy nears its conclusion, we will focus on reviewing progress, discussing strategies for maintaining success, and creating a plan for continued growth.

How frequent are sessions?

Sessions are typically once a week but can be adjusted to bi-weekly based on your needs.

Do you offer telehealth sessions?

Yes! I offer virtual sessions via Alma for clients who prefer remote therapy.

Do you provide diagnoses?

If you are using insurance, I do provide diagnoses as part of the documentation process.
